It's up to those who have to bear the consequences to make decisions. And that's us in this case. Are you going to debug all the problems of those users who run out of disk space? Will you be there to wade through the inevitable flood of bug reports that are sure to follow? Will you work overtime and spend your evenings with that? Will you run out of time for other tasks that have an upcoming milestone, yet you don't get to work on them because of problems that would have been easy to avoid?
