[Bug 179702] Latest HP laptops do not reach max cpufreq, might not update thermal, battery info or could get "bad firmware state" that even survives shutdown. Caused by probably wrong/unfinished ACPI BIOS/EC read/writes
https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=179702 ------- Comment #110 from admin@phdserver.com 2007-01-12 04:49 MST ------- Michael, I'm not sure this is the good place for your problem, but others are more qualified than I am to tell you. It seems your 9420 has a problem with its battery. One way to confirm that is installing a small utility like acpiw to monitor your battery state. It will show you the battery factory capacity, actual capacity and the like... If all is correct, please tell us as this may be a problem with the bios. If remaining capacity is low, you have a problem with the battery and you may contact your HP representative. You could also use HP Business forums to submit your case and / or search for similar problems (I remember having seen somes) If all is correct, could you try it with Windows?
