This is the way I found things after having done a fresh install of SuSE10.1. Please don't dismiss this lightly, there is a problem. Why in the world would I change ownership or permissions on this directory or even have reason to? If it was distributed correctly then I strongly suspect some other program involved in the configuration/setup processes for CUPS is changing ownership/permissions and it needs to be tracked down an fixed...
