(hd0,0) is the boot device -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.

And this already at the beginning of the log. If you really boot from sda, the device map is wrong. Note that a zypper dup does not recreate the boot config files. It only updates menu.lst with the new kernel. -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.

Btw, changing /etc/grub.conf to setup --stage2=/boot/grub/stage2 --force-lba (hd0) (hd0,0) quit did not help. Neither did re-creating the bootloader with YaST change anything. The question is also what did 'zypper dup' change that makes my system unbootable ? -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.
https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=848654 https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=848654#c6 --- Comment #6 from Klaus Kämpf <kkaempf@suse.com> 2013-11-05 17:08:56 UTC --- /boot/grub/device.map reads: (hd2) /dev/disk/by-id/ata-WDC_WD3000JB-00KFA0_WD-WCAMR1490480 (hd1) /dev/disk/by-id/ata-WDC_WD10EARS-00Y5B1_WD-WCAV56153591 (hd0) /dev/disk/by-id/ata-SAMSUNG_HD103SJ_S246J9BB146326 which is completely correct ! Still the system does not boot. -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.

No idea what caused this. -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.
