[Bug 1202236] New: Live may corrupt installed OpenSuse user's desktop settings
http://bugzilla.opensuse.org/show_bug.cgi?id=1202236 Bug ID: 1202236 Summary: Live may corrupt installed OpenSuse user's desktop settings Classification: openSUSE Product: openSUSE Distribution Version: Leap 15.4 Hardware: Other OS: openSUSE Leap 15.4 Status: NEW Severity: Normal Priority: P5 - None Component: Live Medium Assignee: fvogt@suse.com Reporter: elektronista.tt@gmail.com QA Contact: qa-bugs@suse.de Found By: --- Blocker: --- Installing OpenSuse from live creates a symlink "live" in /home to /home/user_name. If a live OpenSuse media used on this system this link causes to reach some code to change installed OpenSuse system's users desktop and removes plasmoids and wallpaper. https://forums.opensuse.org/showthread.php/573506-Running-Live-ISO-removes-i... -- You are receiving this mail because: You are on the CC list for the bug.

That sounds strange. Did you really install using the official openSUSE Leap
Yes.
15.3 live isos and not something like GeckoLinux?
I've never used GeckoLinux. lrwxrwxrwx 1 root root 11 Oca 24 2022 live -> /home/tanju drwx------ 2 root root 16384 Oca 24 2022 lost+found As can be seen here these directories were created on Jan 24 2022. Both at the same time. Here what important is, IMHO, the link to user's home directory is used only by OpenSuse Live system but no other distros. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are on the CC list for the bug.

BTW could you please explain what means deleting the link can not cause any unwanted changes anymore. Thanks. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are on the CC list for the bug.
