This still occurs with 11.1. The workaround used to be to switch from the "intel" driver selected by sax to the "i810" driver, which worked perfectly (at 10.3). But this has been removed from 11.1 - or rather it's a symlink to the intel driver. Curiously, given that i810 is a link to intel, setting the driver to i810 in xorg.conf gives an error (logs attached), saying that it can't find a device. I can't see any obvious errors in the log when the intel driver encounters its corruption, apart from something about "drmOpenDevice" failing, and then succeeding. Are there any driver options I can set to try to avoid this corruption? Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. Install SUSE 11.1 on an nc6120 laptop using the intel X.org driver 2. Startup 3. Actual Results: When the X login starts, the SUSE banner initially displays for a couple of seconds, then the whole screen is replaced with random "noise" for a few seconds, then the actual login prompt appears. After entering login details, the KDE startup appears, then part way through the corruption re-appears for a few seconds, then it flips back to the KDE startup and the desktop eventually appears as normal. Thereafter, everything seems fine.
