Again, only the pae kernel was installed. The second dup run, which only reinstalled openSUSE-release and pae/pae-base kernel took about 25 minutes. Again, most of that 25 minutes according to top was spent on update-bootload, even though that run resulted in 0 changes to files in /boot/grub. -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.

Using zypper, kernel-pae-base-2.6.27.7-4.1 took about 10 minutes to install kernel-pae-2.6.27.7-4.1 took more than 12.5 minutes to install suspend-0.80... took about 9 minutes to install kernel-pae-extra- 2.6.27.7-4.1 took 16.5 minutes to install Most of the time in each of the four was spent with update-bootload pegging CPU. I study that profile and find really huge amount of call l_debug...so do you have md RAID?
No.
if not, how many RAM does have that host?
512M. That host is a poor performer. On memtest, speed results are a tiny fraction of current hardware, less than 10% even though CPU speed 1/3 or more.
