[Bug 429575] New: issue with ifup and pppoe interfaces
https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=429575 Summary: issue with ifup and pppoe interfaces Product: openSUSE 11.0 Version: Final Platform: x86-64 OS/Version: openSUSE 11.0 Status: NEW Severity: Normal Priority: P5 - None Component: Network AssignedTo: bnc-team-screening@forge.provo.novell.com ReportedBy: jnelson-suse@jamponi.net QAContact: qa@suse.de Found By: --- I have a small problem - services which depend on the interface being up won't work properly (often) for ppp (including pppoe) interfaces when activated via the ifservices method due to the fact that the interface does not (often) have an IP when ifup calls ifservices. Is there a way around this? Perhaps assigning an RFC1918 address or some such to the interface via ifup which the, of course, gets reassigned when pppd is complete? -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.

Depending on the ppp configuration there is no persistent ppp interface (in dial-on-demand configurations only), so a private address can't be assigned anyway. -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.
