[Bug 955096] New: Can't shutdown my laptop with kernel 4.3
http://bugzilla.opensuse.org/show_bug.cgi?id=955096 Bug ID: 955096 Summary: Can't shutdown my laptop with kernel 4.3 Classification: openSUSE Product: openSUSE Tumbleweed Version: 2015* Hardware: Other OS: Other Status: NEW Severity: Normal Priority: P5 - None Component: Basesystem Assignee: bnc-team-screening@forge.provo.novell.com Reporter: antoine.belvire@laposte.net QA Contact: qa-bugs@suse.de Found By: --- Blocker: --- Created attachment 655940 --> http://bugzilla.opensuse.org/attachment.cgi?id=655940&action=edit Shutdown log I can't shutdown my laptop properly with openSUSE Tumbleweed (currently 20151113). I think it's related to my encrypted /home partition (luks + xfs) and to kernel 4.3, because it shutdowns fine with kernel 4.2.4. Looks like so... But the log attached doesn't contain the timeout messages you pasted, so it's hard to judge.
Sorry, I don't understand… What I pasted is extracted from the shutdown.log attached. I can see the timeout messages there, beginning at line 364. ?
To simply a bit, could you try to boot in the single user mode and shutdown for confirming that the problem is still present?
I will try that. For now, I've juste noticed that if I log out before shutdown, it shutdowns properly. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are on the CC list for the bug.

This is interesting. So some remaining process might block unmounting? Can you trigger alt-sysrq-t to get the current tasks while hanging? You may need to enable magic sysrq beforehand like sysctl kernel.sysrq=1 or modify /etc/sysctl.d/* for permanent change. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are on the CC list for the bug.
