I am using KDE, ogg and flac files are associated with ogg123. When I click on
an ogg (or flac) file in Konqueror (in KDE 3.5) a terminal window appears and
closes immediately, and there is no playback.
If I open the Konsole and type in ogg123 music.ogg after such a crash, normally
nothing happens, I get back the prompt without any message. Sometimes playback
starts after a few (maybe 1, maybe 4) trials.
However, if I start Konqueror with superuser rights, it works allright, so does
playback from Konsole using superuser rights.

I checked KDE 4.1.3 as well. I encountered the same issue. Here Dolphin gives
an error message "/usr/bin/ogg123 froze", but other than that the problem is
the same.
With Dolphin or Konqueror started with superuser rights, the playback is
allright.

[Mp3 files are associated with the command line program mpg123 (downloaded from
Packman). This does not have this issue, it works as it should.]
