[Bug 354748] New: HTDIG not installed by default and so building the KDE Help index fails
https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=354748 Summary: HTDIG not installed by default and so building the KDE Help index fails Product: openSUSE 10.3 Version: Final Platform: Other OS/Version: Other Status: NEW Severity: Normal Priority: P5 - None Component: Basesystem AssignedTo: bnc-team-screening@forge.provo.novell.com ReportedBy: doug@foruminfosystems.com QAContact: qa@suse.de Found By: Customer HTDig is not installed by default. When attempting to create the help index for initial use, it appears to build the index. However selecting details reveals the index is not created and HTDIG is missing. Installing HTDIG appears to correct problem, but index is still not built. The following errors then appear when a search is attempted: khc_htsearch.pl --indexdir=/home/dglenn/.kde/share/apps/khelpcenter/index/ --config=book_opensuse_startupen --words=fsck --method=and --maxnum=5 --lang=en The above error appears for each section and the last error is shown below. Htdig error: Unable to read word database file '/home/dglenn/.kde/share/apps/khelpcenter/index//opensuse-manualen.words.db' Did you run htdig? Running the 'susehelpindex' command manually as root results as: saul:/home/dglenn # susehelpindex DOCUMENT: Creating index files... No indexable documents. Running the 'susehelpindex' command manually as user results in the following: dglenn@saul:~> susehelpindex DOCUMENT: susehelpindex needs to be started as root for creating index files. The end result is that the SuseHelp center in KDE is broken. This is the default condition on two systems I have installed now, both have been updated to the latest revisions. I do subscribe to Pacman and the backports repository, however this should not have any bearing on the help issue. -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.
