[Bug 535639] New: PackageKit 'hangs' when not being able to refresh
http://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=535639 Summary: PackageKit 'hangs' when not being able to refresh Classification: openSUSE Product: openSUSE 11.2 Version: Factory Platform: Other OS/Version: Other Status: NEW Severity: Normal Priority: P5 - None Component: GNOME AssignedTo: sreeves@novell.com ReportedBy: dominique.leuenberger@tmf-group.com QAContact: qa@suse.de Found By: --- Every morning when I switch on my notebook, PK tries to refresh the update list. This seems not to work in my office environment (to complex proxy setup for PK.. pity. we use PAC files). Nevertheless, PK pops up a message in the morning that it can't refresh the Repos. The dialog has a 'confirm' button which just ends up in 'locking' the app completely. So clicking it away is not possible (or almost never. it happens actually to disappear sometimes). This, as a consequence, locks usage of zypper / yast2 PM until /usr/sbin/packagekitd is being killed. -- Configure bugmail: http://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.

Only way to exit the dialog is to kill packagekit. -- Configure bugmail: http://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.

Not likely, you have already upgraded to newer versions of openSUSE, which had a lot more bug fixes. As openSUSE 11.2 is no longer maintained (for a long time already) and I can't seem to reproduce anything similar in openSUSE 12.1 / 12.2 RC, I close the bug as 'FIXED'. Should you be able to reproduce this issue on a newer openSUSE version, please feel to report it again. -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.
