This resolution is around 1152 by xxx, with the problem that the displayed font is about 5 pixels in hight. The monitor needs to be selected early and even set to a lower density by the user, example (1024 x 768). I am not able to set the default monitor size until I have created a user account. Later, I found that I could set the monitor size to default for everyone to the 1024 x 768. But it is too late. Major problem, all data display and input fields are 5 pixels high. Reducing the screen resolution did not cause the number of pixels or font size to change proportionally. A similar problem is required for the keyboard. In Montreal where we are, the keyboard is the Canadian(fr) version. I don't understand the problem too. It is possible to select the keyboard on one of the first dialogs as you already know 2. This only happens if the DisplaySize couldn't be detected or the monitor provides wrong values. In case of lying display we only can fix it manually with the correct data of the specific model. In case of no data available the Xorg default of 75 dpi applies which is big enough for any standard installation up to 1280x1024.
