http://bugzilla.opensuse.org/show_bug.cgi?id=1090457 Bug ID: 1090457 Summary: touchpad stops working randomly in thinkpad helix Classification: openSUSE Product: openSUSE Distribution Version: Leap 15.0 Hardware: 64bit OS: SLED 15 Status: NEW Severity: Critical Priority: P5 - None Component: Kernel Assignee: kernel-maintainers@forge.provo.novell.com Reporter: luisangelgonzo@gmail.com QA Contact: qa-bugs@suse.de Found By: --- Blocker: --- Randomly, after some time of working correctly, touchpad stops working (doesn't seem to be recognized, suddenly) in thinkpad helix (convertible laptop) i've found this similar case. maybe it helps : https://forums.opensuse.org/showthread.php/526850-Touchpad-and-trackpoint-no... i've found this, maybe related, also : https://bugzilla.kernel.org/show_bug.cgi?id=196953 i've filled a bug in opensuse ( https://bugzilla.opensuse.org/show_bug.cgi?id=1074507 ) and tested kernel 4.9 and it worked perfectly, so it's a regression. also reported upstream, but no workaround: https://bugzilla.kernel.org/show_bug.cgi?id=198527 it can be possibly related to this one: https://bugzilla.kernel.org/show_bug.cgi?id=194623 in any case, it works perfectly ok with kernel 4.9 -- tried with unsupported versions in opensuse tumbleweed, manjaro -arch- and debian 9. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are on the CC list for the bug.

Also give dmesg output before and after the problem; at least we need to check whether any relevant kernel message appears. And, does the problem mentioned in the other report (it gets *reliably* broken by detaching / re-attaching) in your case, too? Last but not least, please try the recent upstream kernel (OBS Kernel:stable repo) to see whether the problem still appears or not. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are on the CC list for the bug.
