[Bug 481340] New: amarok corrupts metadata
https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=481340 Summary: amarok corrupts metadata Classification: openSUSE Product: openSUSE.org Version: unspecified Platform: i586 OS/Version: openSUSE 11.1 Status: NEW Severity: Normal Priority: P5 - None Component: 3rd party software AssignedTo: opensuse-communityscreening@forge.provo.novell.com ReportedBy: ajohansson@novell.com QAContact: opensuse-communityscreening@forge.provo.novell.com Found By: --- I tried reporting this at bugs.kde.org, but the wizard seems to be broken (whatever I put into the summary, it told me it was not legal keywords) amarok2 (2.0.1.1 from Factory:/Desktop) doesn't retain metadata well. It consistently forgets it all, and refuses to see it even after a rescan. amarok 1 on the same machine doesn't have this problem, which I think shows it is not a problem with the music files. This is for mp3 and ogg, all my music. In most cases it just forgets everything and refuses to see the metadata, but in some cases I have seen it get the metadata mixed up, so a song by Elvis Presley is suddenly shown as "Artist: Queen", or with the right artist but the wrong album. There is also another issue, which is more about usability. My music is stored on a file server mounted with nfs. If this server goes away for a short while, amarok updates its database to remove all songs, meaning I have to scan everything again, which takes ages. This is not part of this bug report, I just wanted to vent some steam :) -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.
