[Bug 247360] New: More GConf options in Gnome and it's applications
https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=247360 Summary: More GConf options in Gnome and it's applications Product: openSUSE 10.3 Version: Alpha 1 Platform: Other OS/Version: Other Status: NEW Severity: Normal Priority: P5 - None Component: GNOME AssignedTo: bnc-team-gnome@forge.provo.novell.com ReportedBy: felix.rommel@web.de QAContact: qa@suse.de Gnome heads in the right direction with making the GUI as easy as possible - as far as I understand the Gnome HIG's there shall be as less and best setting options available for the beginners. The "advanced" options shall be configurable in GConf. I agree with that fully, BUT: There is nothing to see from this in reality: There are nearly no other options in GConf editor than in the applications GUI settings available!!! Ease the GUI for beginners - but please offer advanced options for power users in GConf (editor)!! Only a few (!) examples: - Gnome screensaver: where is a Gconf setting for enabling sth. like an "Advanced settings" button for the GUI where I can set up a directory for the picture screensaver??? - Panel settings: where is the option to only show the hide button on the right side??? .. Here not only the GUI is made easier but nearly all options are thrown out of GConf, too! -> This makes Gnome useless for "power" users! -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug, or are watching someone who is.
