http://bugzilla.opensuse.org/show_bug.cgi?id=1086009 Bug ID: 1086009 Summary: Repository metadata corruption while working on a unstable Internet connection Classification: openSUSE Product: openSUSE Distribution Version: Leap 42.3 Hardware: Other OS: Other Status: NEW Severity: Normal Priority: P5 - None Component: libzypp Assignee: zypp-maintainers@forge.provo.novell.com Reporter: kacper.pluta@gmail.com QA Contact: qa-bugs@suse.de Found By: --- Blocker: --- Hey guys! So, since 42.3 I have a problem that time-to-time I have to type zypper clean -a && zypper ref to rebuild the repos metadata and cache if not I cannot refresh the repos at all. I have this problem only on my laptop so I think that the problems is related to the fact that sometimes I use unstable internet connections, etc. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are on the CC list for the bug.

We'd need a closer description of the problem. Maybe you can attach your zypper.log: Please attach the zypper logfile /var/log/zypper.log (or an older and compressed /var/log/zypper.log-YYYYMMDD.xz) that shows the reported behavior. To see the execution dates and zypper commands included in a logfile you can install the zypper-log package (available since zypper-1.6.11) and execute: zypper-log To extract the log of a specific command use zypper-log pid See the manual page zypper-log(8) for details on how to read older (rotated) zypper-log files. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are on the CC list for the bug.

The WiFi connection requires a proxy authentication i.e., there is a web page at which I have to login before making any connection. So I think the repos refresh is going on before I am logged in. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are on the CC list for the bug.

Sorry guys but I have not had time to go through the log, yet.
But the problem happened again:
Building repository 'Packman Repository' cache ............................................................................. ........................................[done] File '/repodata/repomd.xml' not found on medium 'http://download.opensuse.org/distribution/leap/42.3/repo/oss/' Abort, retry, ignore? [a/r/i/...? shows all options] (a): i Do you want to disable the repository openSUSE-42.3-0 permanently? [yes/no] (no): no Warning: Skipping repository 'openSUSE-42.3-0' because of the above error. File '/repodata/repomd.xml' not found on medium 'http://download.opensuse.org/distribution/leap/42.3/repo/non-oss/' Abort, retry, ignore? [a/r/i/...? shows all options] (a): i Do you want to disable the repository openSUSE-Leap-42.3-Non-Oss permanently? [yes/no] (no): no Warning: Skipping repository 'openSUSE-Leap-42.3-Non-Oss' because of the above error.
And one extra thing. The WiFi connection requires a proxy authentication i.e., there is a web page at which I have to login before making any connection. So I think the repos refresh is going on before I am logged in.
Note that, when the problem happen then, for example, calling zypper up always produces the above errors. No matter if the connection is OK. Only, zypper clean -a && zypper ref helps. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are on the CC list for the bug.
