[Bug 726627] New: NET Installer gives "Unsigned file" warnings about SHA1SUMS
https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=726627 https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=726627#c0 Summary: NET Installer gives "Unsigned file" warnings about SHA1SUMS Classification: openSUSE Product: openSUSE 12.1 Version: RC 1 Platform: Other OS/Version: SuSE Other Status: NEW Severity: Normal Priority: P5 - None Component: Installation AssignedTo: bnc-team-screening@forge.provo.novell.com ReportedBy: osl2008@googlemail.com QAContact: jsrain@suse.com Found By: --- Blocker: --- User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; Linux x86_64; rv:7.0.1) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/7.0.1 Installing 12.1 RC1 64 bit on VirtualBox under 11.4, using NET boot and locally loop-mounted DVD image. Mainly default options apart from choosing btrfs and enabling SSH. Following the start of the installation proper (after confirming settings) there is a long pause followed by a dialogue stating "Unsigned file. The file SHA1SUMS from repository unknown unknown is not digitally signed....use it anyway?" Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. Set up locally loop-mounted DVD image (64 bit) 2. Boot NET image (64 bit) in VirtualBox 3. Go through installation options and start the installation Actual Results: Long pause followed by "Unsigned file" dialogue Expected Results: No pause or error Will add YaST logs when (? if ?) installation completes. -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.

Eventually the installation gave a more helpful error: could not find the DVD image via FTP. Not sure why, but VirtualBox in NAT mode won't install. Changed to Bridged network and all is well - this error NOT visible. -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.

I guess the problem was caused by inconsistency on the server side (the repository was probably being recreated and the signatures were missing at that time). Feel free to reopen if you can still reproduce it. -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.

Screenshot attached, are there any log files worth uploading? I have frozen the VM so it can be done at leisure. Just to elaborate: VirtualBox on OSL 11.4 host (64 bit, quad core AMD) is booting 64 bit NET image, build 379. Matching (64 bit) DVD image is loop-mounted on another local machine (an AMD Athlon x86 running on OSL 11.3 32 bit, access via LAN) and served by FTP (VSFTP). Most VM settings are default, except for 2G RAM, 32M Graphics, 25G Virtual HD. The *Exact* same set-up works perfectly if network=Bridged rather than default NAT. I'll leave it up to you to decide whether to re-open this... -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.
https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=726627 https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=726627#c5 --- Comment #5 from Ladislav Slezak <lslezak@suse.com> 2011-10-31 15:30:14 UTC --- Please, attach YaST log file (/var/log/YaST2/y2log) from both setups (NAT/bridged). It will be interesting to see the difference... Just start the installation, reproduce the problem and switch to the second terminal (tty2) - there is a running shell, copy the log file outside the VM using scp and attach it here (compress is by gzip/bzip to save space). For me it is strange that with bridged network it works bu with NAT not, sounds like a Virtualbox bug... -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.
