[Bug 1207142] New: mirrorcache-jp.opensuse.org does not work correctly
https://bugzilla.suse.com/show_bug.cgi?id=1207142 Bug ID: 1207142 Summary: mirrorcache-jp.opensuse.org does not work correctly Classification: openSUSE Product: openSUSE Distribution Version: Leap 15.4 Hardware: x86-64 OS: openSUSE Tumbleweed Status: NEW Severity: Critical Priority: P5 - None Component: Other Assignee: screening-team-bugs@suse.de Reporter: m.nomiya@gmail.com QA Contact: qa-bugs@suse.de Found By: --- Blocker: --- This is a report of an outage occurring only at the openSUSE site. Currently, from these site are http://download.opensuse.org/ and https://software.opensuse.org/search?locale=ja YaST2, zypper, vivaldi, or seamonkey, not only does it take an abnormally long time, but it often terminates in the middle of downloading and the file cannot be retrieved in its proper form. Especially, on this site, https://software.opensuse.org/search?locale=ja When I try to identify and download a file at , I get a message saying that there is no such file for mirrocache-jp.com in Australia, or that there is no file different from the one I specified (often a previous version of the file I specified). I found that in order to get the file without problems, I need to change the content of /var/cache/zypp/geoip.d/download.opensuse.org from mirrorcache-jp.opensuse.org to mirrorcache-us.opensuse.org and set the openvpn connection server to a server in the US. But even with this setup, the download takes a very long time. You may say, "Well, use this configuration," but then not only does it take a long time to access other sites I could accessed normally, but it also takes an inordinate amount of time to send mail. So, the above solution is only for downloading files from openSUSE sites. Based on the above, I believe that there is an anomaly in the mirrorcache-jp related sites. Incidentally, this phenomenon has been occurring since the end of November last year, and I did not know where to report it, so I decided to submit it to bugzilla. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are on the CC list for the bug.
