http://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=577132 http://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=577132#c0 Summary: 2.6.33 KMS doesn't work with Quadro FX 770M Classification: openSUSE Product: openSUSE 11.3 Version: Factory Platform: x86-64 OS/Version: openSUSE 11.3 Status: NEW Severity: Normal Priority: P5 - None Component: Basesystem AssignedTo: bnc-team-screening@forge.provo.novell.com ReportedBy: markus.kossmann@gmx.de QAContact: qa@suse.de Found By: --- Blocker: --- Created an attachment (id=340820) --> (http://bugzilla.novell.com/attachment.cgi?id=340820) boot.msg ending with trashed screen User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; U; Linux x86_64; de; rv:1.9.2.0) Gecko/20100115 SUSE/3.6.0-1.2 Firefox/3.6 Booting into textmode with factory kernel2.6.33-rc5-1-desktop ends with an unreadable screen. Adding the nomodeset flag to the kernel commandline fixes the problem. So it seems that KMS isn't able to handle nVidia Corporation G96M [Quadro FX 770M] (rev a1) Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1.boot into runlevel 3 2. 3. Actual Results: unreadable screen Expected Results: screen with readable login prompt -- Configure bugmail: http://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.

http://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=577132 http://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=577132#c2 --- Comment #2 from Markus Koßmann <markus.kossmann@gmx.de> 2010-02-17 18:35:18 UTC --- Meanwhile I've overwritten the buggy installation with an installation from openSUSE-NET-x86_64-Build0447-Media.iso. That installation doesn't show that behaviour any more. So it seems that something broke with the update of factory to 2.6.33. 2.6.32 did't show the problem. So I think we should close this bug. -- Configure bugmail: http://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.
