[Bug 253471] New: Wrong total battery value on "KPowersave Information Dialog" screen on (HP Compaq nx6125) laptop with 2 batteries
https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=253471 Summary: Wrong total battery value on "KPowersave Information Dialog" screen on (HP Compaq nx6125) laptop with 2 batteries Product: openSUSE 10.2 Version: Final Platform: x86-64 OS/Version: SuSE Other Status: NEW Severity: Normal Priority: P5 - None Component: KDE AssignedTo: bnc-team-screening@forge.provo.novell.com ReportedBy: Tob_Sch@gmx.de QAContact: qa@suse.de I'm running openSUSE 10.2 x86_64 with the newest patches. It's installed on a HP Compaq nx6125 notebook with 2 !!! batteries: a primary battery and a travel battery. The output of the "alarm", "info" and "status" files in the directories /proc/acpi/battery/C17B/* and /proc/acpi/battery/C17C/* show the right values, so it's not a problem of the kernel, but a problem of KDE respectively KPowersave. A second problem is, that the value and the entity of energy consumption (or the word "energy consumption" itself) is not correct. -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug, or are watching someone who is.

The output of proc say clearly you first batter (C17B) is complete empty and so everything look complete sane to me (KPowersave show a complete empty and a partial discharged battery which together relativ to battery design capacity show the correct overall value): /proc/acpi/battery/C17B/state:capacity state: critical /proc/acpi/battery/C17B/state:charging state: charged /proc/acpi/battery/C17B/state:present rate: 0 mA /proc/acpi/battery/C17B/state:remaining capacity: 0 mAh If this info is not correct this is more a hardware problem (or maybe kernel, but this is a HP and they have often buggy ACPI implementation in the BIOS). Close as INVALID since this is not a KPowersave problem. -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug, or are watching someone who is.
