Unfortunately, there is no direct way to find out which updates are available (except starting YOU). The only way is to click the opensuse-updater icon to open the main window. Unfortunately, this isn't a good thing from the usability point of view because the workflow for this is: - click "ignore" in the update notification - click the tray icon to display the available updates I still propose to add a "Details..." button to the notification window as shown in the mookup in comment #2. This will avoid the "click ignore, click tray icon" workflow described above.
