Actual Results: green background for item selection That is: 1) due to YaST branding (which doesn't use Oxygen (or any other system-wide) style anyway) 2) due to running applications as root, as they will use what is default system-wide, not users settings.

Unfortunately not. The settings do not even apply for the control center window itself or kde konsole. Furthermore, if 1) and 2) would apply, the behavior would be different to SUSE 12.2, which did not show any of this issues. This is definitively a prominently visible bug, and nobody cares or tries to fix it since 4 months. -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.

For root or user? If root, how did you change it? Settings applied system-wide can be found in /etc/kde4/share/config/ The colorscheme part is in kdeglobals file. If you move the file, does that help? (i don't expect answer will be no :-)
Furthermore, if 1) and 2) would apply, the behavior would be different to SUSE 12.2, which did not show any of this issues. We didn't have a special colorscheme with 12.2, so that couldn't occur. Probably is difference between Oxygen and Oxygen Cold colorscheme too small to be noticed, therefore "bug didn't exist"

For root or user?
For user. I changed nothing for root or system wide.
We didn't have a special colorscheme with 12.2, so that couldn't occur.
Right, there was no special OpenSUSE scheme in 12.2, however, I could successfully change between the 10 or so existing schemes without any problems.
Probably is difference between Oxygen and Oxygen Cold colorscheme too small to be noticed
No, that is impossible. I tried all installed schemes and user defined colors, and no success.
Settings applied system-wide can be found in /etc/kde4/share/config/ The colorscheme part is in kdeglobals file. If you move the file, does that help?
I removed it, and that did not help. Then I removed ~/.kde4/share/config/kdeglobals . That did help. Even copying /etc/kde4/share/config/kdeglobals back (as this is a system file installed by rpm) and restarting X was successful. THANK YOU. Maybe the reason is that I have an update installation from SUSE 12.2 ? I have a second installation (Laptop) which has shown the same behavior. Attached you can find my old ~/.kde4/share/config/kdeglobals, maybe this can give any hints. -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.
