[Bug 463439] New: network service not starting though it's enabled
https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=463439 Summary: network service not starting though it's enabled Product: openSUSE 11.1 Version: Final Platform: Other OS/Version: Other Status: NEW Severity: Normal Priority: P5 - None Component: Basesystem AssignedTo: bnc-team-screening@forge.provo.novell.com ReportedBy: jakub.rusinek@gmail.com QAContact: qa@suse.de Found By: --- I'm using runlevel 5. I have enabled network service but it never starts. before reinstall, adviced on #suse, also lirc and xdm weren't starting. it might be related to bug 443223, because it's possible console-kit service is starting, but crashes and blocks sysvinit from running services it should start after console-kit. -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.

Second dependency is dbus, but it's running fine. Also I noticed there's no service consolekit so it couldn't block sysvinit from doing anything. -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.

S02network is in /etc/init.d/rc5.d/ but it seems that the init program ignores that, since no log mentiones it. Got java? jre 1.6.x from Sun containst broken /etc/init.d/jexec. Blocks others services from starting. Noticed that in bootsplash in verbose mode. "Starting jexec_", where _ is a blinking cursor. `service jexec status` gives absolutely nothing. Even no new line mark. `service jexec start` blocks terminal.
