[Bug 1000053] New: Dolphin derives incorrect camera:/ paths from GoPro Video Camera
http://bugzilla.opensuse.org/show_bug.cgi?id=1000053 Bug ID: 1000053 Summary: Dolphin derives incorrect camera:/ paths from GoPro Video Camera Classification: openSUSE Product: openSUSE Distribution Version: Leap 42.1 Hardware: x86-64 OS: openSUSE 42.1 Status: NEW Severity: Normal Priority: P5 - None Component: KDE Applications Assignee: opensuse-kde-bugs@opensuse.org Reporter: steve@srevilak.net QA Contact: qa-bugs@suse.de Found By: --- Blocker: --- Created attachment 693246 --> http://bugzilla.opensuse.org/attachment.cgi?id=693246&action=edit Screen capture showing expected filesystem structure of camera I've always used Dolphin to download videos from my GoPro camera; since upgrading from opensuse 13.2 -> 42.1, I'm no longer able to do this. fig1.png is a screen capture of my camera's filesystem structure. This screen capture shows Dolphin 4.14.1 running on KDE 4.14.2 and Debian 8.5. This is the same way it looked under opensuse 13.2. fig2.png is another screen capture of my camera's filesystem structure. This screen capture was taken on opensuse 42.1, using Dolphin 15.12.3 and KDE Plasma version 5.5.5. I'd like to point out three differences between the structures shown in fig1 and fig2 - fig1 shows the video files under store_00010001/DCIM/135GOPRO/. According to fig2, this path does not exist. - the closest corresponding element in fig2 is store_00010001/DCIM_00000001_0000001/135GOPRO. As far as I can tell, that's not a valid path on this camera. (i.e., I've never seen this path in versions of Dolphin that were able to access video files on this camera.) - fig1 shows six MP4 files. fig2 shows none. I'm going to call this a regression; opensuse 13.2 had no difficulties accessing files on this camera, but 42.1 can't access them at all. When plugging this camera into my computer's USB port, Device Notifier offers three options 1. Download Photos with Gwenview 2. Open With File Manager, and 3. Download photos with digikam I've already described what happens with option 2. I tried option 1. Gwenview displays an error dialog with the text "URL cannot be listed camera:/". I tried option 3. digikam's importer reports the camera as being 30% full, but shows no files. At this point, my only workaround is to download video files using a debian system, then scp them to my opensuse system. lsusb-camera.txt (attached) is the portion of "lsusb -v" with information about my camera. I'm not sure what other information would be helpful in diagnosing this problem. Please let me know if there's additional information you'd like me to provide, or tests you'd like me to perform. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are on the CC list for the bug.
