If not, I'll investigate this issue further. -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug, or are watching someone who is.
https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=223845 ------- Comment #6 from kmachalkova@novell.com 2006-11-30 05:47 MST ------- Also please note that YaST cannot update environment variables (in your case HTTP_PROXY) of running desktop environment immediately, since it runs as root process and has no way of finding out which user is currently logged in. For your settings to take effect, you have to relogin. Anyway, YaST proxy module should inform you about that (it says: Applications that support it, such as YaST2 Online Update, use them (==proxy settings) immediately. Other applications use them after a new login (lynx, wget). Some applications do not support these settings at all -- they use their own settings system.) -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug, or are watching someone who is.

HTTP_PROXY.... .... now konqueror starts automatic with correct Proxy's. but Firefox don't found the "proxis", is this a new problem with firefox ? also the Button Test Proxy is gone in the YaST2 Modele on install Time -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug, or are watching someone who is.

Eh, yes :-) This is done on purpose (see also bug #215991), because you cannot reasonably test proxy settings until you have fully configured network (IP addresses, DNS settings etc.). I admit I have to remove associated help text as well ... YaST job is to dump correct settings into /etc/sysconfig/proxy (which it does). On relogin, they are read by SuSEconfig and exported as environment variables (http_proxy, https_proxy - like this, no CAPITALS :-) ) Seems as if Firefox hadn't seen http_proxy variable. Will reassign to Firefox maintainers ... -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug, or are watching someone who is.
