Stops with error. Using firmware test also reproduces same error. Fujitsu 82801FBM (ICH6M) sata controller drivers: ata-piix, achi loading ata piixudevd-event [1351]: wait_for_sysfs:waiting for 'sys/devices/pci0000:00/0000:00:1f.2/host0/target0:0:0/0:0:0:0/ioerr_cht' failed. IRQ doesn't work, so the disk controller times out. With acpi off, IRQ works but no acpi magics including poweroff. Reassigning. Can you try latest 2.6.20 SuSE kernel from: ftp.suse.com/pub/projects/kernel/kotd/i386/HEAD/kernel-default.i586.rpm (as soon as it pops up again...). Maybe this got already fixed mainline, searching for a fix is much easier then. -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug, or are watching someone who is.

Installed the kernel as suggested. Then rebooted and selected the new kernel. But this is not how the machine should get started. It's a workaround of a workaround. To be sure whether I am right: Can you try the boot parameters "acpi=force apic" together. If this does work, can you please send dmidecode output. -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug, or are watching someone who is.

Maybe the first is enough? -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug, or are watching someone who is.
