[Bug 904768] New: Can't connect to network with Acer C720, even using USB wifi devices
http://bugzilla.opensuse.org/show_bug.cgi?id=904768 Bug ID: 904768 Summary: Can't connect to network with Acer C720, even using USB wifi devices Classification: openSUSE Product: openSUSE Distribution Version: 13.2 Hardware: x86-64 OS: Other Status: NEW Severity: Major Priority: P5 - None Component: Network Assignee: bnc-team-screening@forge.provo.novell.com Reporter: roger.luedecke@gmail.com QA Contact: qa-bugs@suse.de Found By: --- Blocker: --- https://forums.opensuse.org/showthread.php/502238-Acer-C720-Chromebook-can-t... Many people report problems with the built in AR9462 wpl1s0, with the ath9k driver. However, even attempting to use USB wifi devices from different manufacturers (I tested 3 devices that are all plug and play on Linux) also fails which points to something deeper than the driver or hardware. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are on the CC list for the bug.

On my various 13.2 systems, I can connect using a variety of devices (Intel 7260, Broadcom 4311, Realtek RTL8*) with no problems. I use KDE and NetworkManager for WPA, WPA2, and WEP encryptions. I do not have an AR9260, but my AR9285 works with no problems. How are you connecting? Is there any pertinent info in the output of dmesg? You should also post the last session info from /var/log/wpa_supplicant.log. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are on the CC list for the bug.

Actually, I have it working now. It was related to incorrect system time which I wasn't able to set for some reason before. This has been corrected and it seems to have no problem connecting now. That being said, there are some regressions regarding this model of Chromebook that'll be the topic of other reports. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are on the CC list for the bug.
