The laptop ended up being very unstable, generally ending up in had lock up. Trying out a few different things, I finally hit on adding nomodeset to the kernel options, which has made the system far more stable. Xpress 200M gets really old. Not that astonishing, that KMS isn't that well tested on such hardware. -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.

https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=647134 https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=647134#c3 --- Comment #3 from Per Jessen <per@opensuse.org> 2010-10-16 07:22:43 UTC --- The Thinkpad is barely four years old, somehow that doesn't equal "really old" to me. I'm also not surprised KMS is not well tested on this hardware, but it does provide for a pretty poor user experience. Perhaps we should let nomodeset be the default in 11.4? Seems to be more in line with our current strategy proposals. -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.
