I resolved this issue after manually compiling and installing last version of libv4l (0.5.6) and with LD_PRELOADing a wrapper : LD_PRELOAD=<path_to_libv4l)/libv4l/v4l2convert.so ekiga It a workaround but not clean, because only advanced users can recompileand use shell natively. It seems that libpt from openSUSE 11.1 is not using libv4l, as it's possible to remove libv4l-0.4 packages without dependencies. But libpt can be compiled with libv4l support. So is it possible to : - Upgrade the actual libv4l-0.4 to libv4l-0.5.6, which repairs many many bugs and enhances webcam support (e.g. uvcvideo pixel formats) - build the libpt 2.4.1 (or 2.4.2) with - Or any other workaround, like make ekiga/libpt depends on libv4l and use the wrapper as default ?
