[Bug 247816] New: Client inst_rpmcopy should have some progress
https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=247816 Summary: Client inst_rpmcopy should have some progress Product: openSUSE 10.3 Version: Alpha 1 Platform: Other OS/Version: Other Status: NEW Severity: Enhancement Priority: P5 - None Component: Installation AssignedTo: lslezak@novell.com ReportedBy: locilka@novell.com QAContact: jsrain@novell.com I'm testing the installation on AMD 2200+, 1 GB RAM (default installation). Almost at the begin of the second stage installation, there is an empty dialog "Packages Installation" or something similar in the caption. The client name is inst_rpmcopy.ycp. It took 24 seconds to the next call of another client inst_root.ycp. And only a very short time was something visible in the "Packages Installation" dialog - everything was already installed from CD :) So, whats up? Some progress should be visible to user, and rather not pop-ups if possible. -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug, or are watching someone who is.

https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=247816 locilka@novell.com changed: What |Removed |Added ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- Status|RESOLVED |REOPENED Resolution|WORKSFORME | ------- Comment #2 from locilka@novell.com 2007-06-07 06:27 MST ------- This is because I've already changed the packager not to initialize the target (etc.) when no packages are needed to be installed. Anyway, this will be valid in case of CD-installation when only RPMs from first CD are installed and the other RPMs should be installed in the second stage. You might want to close it rather as "WONTFIX" because of quite rare appearance nowadays, but "WORKSFORME" is not a valid result :) -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug, or are watching someone who is.
