[Bug 349758] New: Password not working with gnome-screensaver
https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=349758 Summary: Password not working with gnome-screensaver Product: openSUSE 10.3 Version: Final Platform: x86-64 OS/Version: openSUSE 10.3 Status: NEW Severity: Critical Priority: P5 - None Component: GNOME AssignedTo: bnc-team-gnome@forge.provo.novell.com ReportedBy: tschloesser@maintainet.de QAContact: qa@suse.de Found By: Customer After enabeling the fingerprint reader though Yast2 the login using shell and gdm was working fine using the fingerprint reader. But whenever the screen saver was activated there was no possibility to use the fingerprint reader and the password was not recognized any more. Searching around a path to gnome-screensaver was mentioned to enable the fingerprint reader, but I was not able to find this one. I am using a Thinkpad T61p with the 64 version of openSUSE 10.3. Can anybody provide me the patch? -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.

If I tried to unlock the gnome-screensaver quick the password was recognized. If I waited a couple of minutes no attempt to unlock succeded. After turning the fingerprint reader off in yast the unlocking the screen saver was working as expected -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.

I have added enhancements to both, pam_thinkfinger and gnome-screensaver which should help. Please let me know if those changes fix the problems you've described. Thanks!
