https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=334459 Summary: The parametor to gdm is confused. Product: openSUSE 10.3 Version: Final Platform: Other OS/Version: openSUSE 10.3 Status: NEW Severity: Major Priority: P5 - None Component: GNOME AssignedTo: bnc-team-gnome@forge.provo.novell.com ReportedBy: gjhe@novell.com QAContact: qa@suse.de Found By: --- When I run gdm as the root, and add a paramator to it ,like this: gdm 1 gdm 2 gdm a gdm sdsdsd gdm ... The result is : No matter what the parametor is,gdm try to launch; It seems that gdm control the display Number interl; I have not checked the code of gdm, simply think this is a bug. Expect actions are: The parametor should take effect, and the parametor checking should be strict; OR we can just run 'gdm',no parametor, and it try to start another display. -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.

You can also configure in detail how X is started and about the VT's, see /usr/share/gdm/defaults.conf. As for stricter parameter checking, I don't think thats a big issue. If you have a specific use case that can't be done, please let me know. -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.
