https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=770348 https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=770348#c0 Summary: VirtualBox can nor export nor clone the virtual machines - dialog crashes on 98% producing unusable files Classification: openSUSE Product: openSUSE 12.1 Version: Final Platform: i686 OS/Version: openSUSE 12.1 Status: NEW Severity: Major Priority: P5 - None Component: Other AssignedTo: bnc-team-screening@forge.provo.novell.com ReportedBy: kiv@mail.orbitel.bg QAContact: qa-bugs@suse.de Found By: --- Blocker: --- User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; Linux x86_64; rv:13.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/13.0 I tried VirtualBox with installed USB extesion form Oracle. It works as expected but can not export virtual machines or clone them. It starts such operations but around 98% the dialog crashes. The produced this way *.ova files are unusable. When I try to import a exported virtual machines it goes as expected, but when I start such machine it starts as expected but in the process of loading I get message "Wayting for device xxxxxxxxxx to appear" and after it "missing device xxxxxxxxx" After it nothing happens. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. Please create a vitual machine installing OpenSUSE 12.1 minimal server system 2. Shutdown the virtual machine with the ready and working installation 3. Try to clone it or to export it as Appliance 4. Please monitor the dialog with the slider - it will crashe around 98% 5. Try to use produced this way clone or to import the exported Appliance 6. When you start the cloned or exported virtual machine please monitro the messages OpenSUSE produces during the bootup and start process Actual Results: Unusable *.ova files or clones. In the process of starting such machine missing device xxxxxxxxx is reported on the screen and the process of bootup and start of the installed system stops Expected Results: In past when I clone or export a installed system and then import it i could start any of them as expected - vor any virtual machine available in Virtualbox I do not attach any virtual appliance because of the file will be too big. But if needed later I can provide such brocken in the process of export appliances. -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.

This Appliances could be imported and can be started as expected. Unfortunately I never manage to do the same with OpenSUSE 12.1 virtual machines. -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.
