I have analyzed the problem on the information of the help people. Before installing openSUSE 12.1, the compputer had version 11.4 installed, and the same problem existed then. I used the same card on a toshiba laptop with 32 bit PCLinux, and it works there. The output of the tests routine from the Toshiba laptop is also included in the correspondence with the help people.
