http://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=550486 Summary: plasma-desktop doesn't start after installation Classification: openSUSE Product: openSUSE 11.2 Version: RC 1 Platform: 32bit OS/Version: Other Status: NEW Severity: Major Priority: P5 - None Component: KDE4 Workspace AssignedTo: kde-maintainers@suse.de ReportedBy: kamikazow@web.de QAContact: qa@suse.de Found By: --- User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; U; Linux i686; de; rv:1.9.1.3) Gecko/20090909 SUSE/3.5.3-3.2 Firefox/3.5.3 Yesterday I installed openSUSE 11.2 KDE RC1. The installation was on an empty set of partitions with an encrypted home partition. After the installation, I've got the "Introduction to openSUSE" screen, but after closing it, the screen was black. Manually running plasma-desktop via Alt-F2 was possible. There is the Introduction to openSUSE and behind a black screen with the KDE crash handler saying: Executable: plasma-desktop PID: 3761 Signal: 11 (Segmentation fault) and there is no information available from the debugger. -- Configure bugmail: http://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.

I'm helping with a cleanup of KDE bugs that are from obsolete versions or may no longer be valid. This is so the developers can focus on developing openSUSE 11.3 Here is some information about this: http://lists.opensuse.org/opensuse-kde/2010-02/msg00015.html http://en.opensuse.org/KDE/BugSquashing ***Markus, resolved in 11.2 final? That said, you probably would've more complaints about it if it was still valid. -- Configure bugmail: http://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.
