This is the main default configuration and this SHOULD NOT be removed. So far you are the only person with this issue, so I assume that it is something in your configuration. You are removing KDM's configuration to have a common default, but did you left /etc/X11/xinit/xinitrc with the defaults ?? (e.g. NOT activating the ssh-add stuff) If you changed this file and you are using the above with the ssh-add stuff active in the xinitrc ? If so, then please have a look at my answer in your other bug and disable this again in the xinitrc. Of course, I have not changed "/etc/X11/xinit/xinitrc"! In fact, the "xinitrc" file is absolutely and completely of no interest to the problem reported here. This file is not used at all, when KDM is displaying its login. The "xinitrc" file only being used *after* the user has logged on to the system (as is the case for the problem reported in bug 819066). The only similarity between the two reported problems is that you cannot use the keyboard in the pop-up windows in either case. Re comment #6: I am not sure what you are saying -- Does the supplied file work or not? Anyway, I have tried to make use of the supplied "kdmrc" file -- Same error as reported! And same error as without a "kdmrc" file and thus exclusively using KDM default settings. It has been resolved as a duplicate of bnc#772344. And it is indeed a duplicate AFAICS, so resolving again. FYI, I can confirm this here.
