Nonetheless, this is an important release because it introduces several major changes to to core code base, which has resulted in several high priority and medium priority bugs being fixed [2], apart from several GUI and rendering improvements. I would like to request an online maintenance upgrade for the stock stellarium in openSUSE 12.3 (which is at version 0.11.4) to version 0.12.0. Version 0.12.0 is already built (and installed and tested by me, both fresh install of 0.12.0 as well as upgrade from openSUSE 12.3's 0.11.4) in the devel project [3], as well as in openSUSE:Factory and I don't see the possibility of any issues with the upgrade. As a maintainer for this package, it will also be easier for me to provide bug-fixes, if required in the future, for version 0.12.0 rather than for the 0.11.x series, as the internal changes in the stellarium source being quite major, fixes from the 0.12.x series would in all probability be very difficult to port to the 0.11.x series. With these points in mind, I would recommend that the maintenance team evaluate the possibility of upgrading stellarium in openSUSE 12.3 to version 0.12.0, which is a major upgrade from the stock 0.11.4 version that openSUSE 12.3 provides.
