- Fn + F7/F8 launch events Meaning? It works fine?

- KDE doesn't show brightness bar When trying to reduce/increase brightness via?
Via pressing the keys Fn + F[89]. I can see how the effective brightness change if I still press the buttons, but I do not see the actual value in the brightness bar that KDE usually present when those events happens
- Brightness level change is a non linear mode What do you mean exactly with "non linear" ?
I need to press like 20 times Fn + F8 to decrease a bit the brightness, after that I need to press like 18 times to see a change, after some more changes I can see some effect after pressing 4 or 5 times Fn + F8. -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.

BTW, 'evtest' doesn't seem to work for me the same way as in the earlier comments:
linux-k1fq:~ # evtest Usage: evtest /dev/input/eventX Where X = input device number linux-k1fq:~ #
open("/dev/input/event9", O_RDONLY) = -1 EPERM (Operation not permitted)
Hi Jon, try with sudo. -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.

--- Comment #12 from Alberto Planas Dominguez
@Alberto: Does Comment #10 help? If so, I would mark your bug report as a duplicate of Bug 815625.
I can't test the solution in the original laptop, the kernel and KDE version are not more the same that when this bug was opened. Maybe Antonio Larrosa can test this. If Antonio can't reproduce this, I vote to mark as a duplicated bug and close this one. -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.
