[Bug 503538] New: [openSUSE:Tools:Devel/kiwi] missing squashfs dependency for SLE11 build
http://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=503538 Summary: [openSUSE:Tools:Devel/kiwi] missing squashfs dependency for SLE11 build Classification: openSUSE Product: openSUSE.org Version: unspecified Platform: Other OS/Version: Other Status: NEW Severity: Normal Priority: P5 - None Component: System Imaging AssignedTo: froh@novell.com ReportedBy: aspiers@novell.com QAContact: adrian@novell.com Found By: Field Engineer [I am new to OBS development, please let me know if this is not the right place to report these kinds of bugs] I tried to 1-click install the SLE 11 build of kiwi from the OBS, but it failed because there was no provider of squashfs. I searched the OBS for squashfs and it is available for openSUSE 11.1 but not SLE 11. I'm guessing I can just work around by installing the 11.1 build of squashfs, but is there a better fix? I don't know if the OBS automatically builds the ymp files - if so, could it autodetect dependencies from the spec file? -- Configure bugmail: http://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.

If it was there... darix, do you mind adding sle11 as build target to the filesystems project? https://build.opensuse.org/project/add_target_simple?project=filesystems After that, please reassign to mls for the real problem here: The package squashfs is required but not build-required. So during the build, no brp has a chance to notice, that the resulting package will fail to install. How can we make obs more robust with respect to that? Is there a simple way to check for installability of the built package? -- Configure bugmail: http://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.
http://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=503538 User aspiers@novell.com added comment http://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=503538#c2 --- Comment #2 from Adam Spiers <aspiers@novell.com> 2009-05-14 04:54:00 MDT --- Installing squashfs from 11.1 did the trick, but making squashfs available under filesystems/SLE_11 sounds like a very good idea. I agree that it seems like there is opportunity to make OBS more robust with better automatic dependency checking, but I don't (yet) know enough about OBS internals to make any suggestions :-( Thanks for thinking about it! -- Configure bugmail: http://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.
