[Bug 786025] New: Footer not appearing on some Templates, Footer positioned "too high"
https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=786025 https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=786025#c0 Summary: Footer not appearing on some Templates, Footer positioned "too high" Classification: openSUSE Product: openSUSE 12.2 Version: Final Platform: x86-64 OS/Version: openSUSE 12.2 Status: NEW Severity: Normal Priority: P5 - None Component: LibreOffice AssignedTo: bnc-team-ooo@forge.provo.novell.com ReportedBy: tonysu@su-networking.com QAContact: qa-bugs@suse.de Found By: --- Blocker: --- User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; Linux x86_64; rv:15.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/15.0.1 2 Footer problems, but IMO likely can be resolved together easily and possibly quickly 1. Footer cannot be inserted in at least one template. No idea why. The presentation can be d/l from https://sites.google.com/site/4techsecrets/slide-presentations Although was converted to Google Docs, converting back to PPT/ODP should not be an issue and the problem should still exist (just try to insert a footer, not possible) 2. On all my Impress presentations, the Footer is located well up into the area normally designated for content. IMO the Footer should be lower, closer to the bottom edge. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1.Open specific presentation (Installing and Optimizing on SSD_abbreviated) from http://sites.google.com/site/4techsecrets/slide-presentations 2. Convert if necessary to local Impress format 3. Try to insert a footer. I tried both on individual slides as well as "all slides" Actual Results: Unable to insert a footer, no change in slides. No change in slide(s) Expected Results: Expected to see a footer with text appearing in one or more slides Designated a "normal" bug although could be considered lower priority since another template can be selected where a footer would work. Also, footer positions can be manually moved or inserted into a separate text field although if there are a large number of slides, that an be onerous. Am thinking there is an outside chance may be related to Bug 592906, But that bug focuses on importing only -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.

There's some difference in this one. Since I am not pretty clear with the issue, would you help to clarify these: 1. I have got the document downloaded from your page (by clicking the gear button -> Download as PPTX). The only choice is pptx. So is this the correct way to download the problematic document? 2. How did you try to insert a footnote? 3. Does MSO render the footnote well with the same document? 4. How does it look like in Libreoffice with your original document? (before uploading to gdoc). I was raising these because that "gdoc" seemed getting this document converted several times, it is possible some data loss happened there. -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.

Responding to previous comment 2. Are there multiple ways to insert a footnote? Attempt was Menu > View > Header and Footer... 3. Did not test, 4. In this bug, the problem is not a Gdocs issue, is an Impress only issue. Only reason why Gdocs was included in this bug report was as a file repo, but if conversion is an issue then I have just uploaded the original file to bypass any Gdocs complications. -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.

For this bug report, disregard any reference to text size and frames which is another bug report, but the Attachment PPT is an example of a non-working foot I don't know if my attempt to create a Footer is preserved, if you open Menu > View > Header and Footer... You may see that "Footer" is checked and Text about a copyright. But, if you then open the Presentation in Impress, you will not see the Footer. -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.
