After restarting knetworkmanager plasma crashes too and after restarting knetworkmanager again it usually works fine. Most packages I use are default opensuse 11.3 packages, I only updated Qt to version 4.7.1 but I had those crashes with Qt 1.6.3, too (but I didn't have the debug packages installed at that time).
