https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=409105 Summary: Various segfaults after upgrade to 11.0 from 10.3 Product: openSUSE 11.0 Version: Final Platform: i386 OS/Version: openSUSE 11.0 Status: NEW Severity: Major Priority: P5 - None Component: Basesystem AssignedTo: bnc-team-screening@forge.provo.novell.com ReportedBy: support@microtechniques.com QAContact: qa@suse.de Found By: Customer I just UPGRADed to SuSE 11.0 from a running SuSE 10.3 system. A number of programs have started generating segfaults. I have included them all here even though they are from different products since it seems likely that they are related. Apache (after a STOP): [Mon Jul 14 22:24:40 2008] [notice] caught SIGTERM, shutting down [Mon Jul 14 22:24:40 2008] [notice] seg fault or similar nasty error detected in the parent process Samba (after closing a connection): wren (10.168.2.20) closed connection to service fileshare [2008/07/14 19:02:59, 0] lib/fault.c:fault_report(40) =============================================================== [2008/07/14 19:02:59, 0] lib/fault.c:fault_report(41) INTERNAL ERROR: Signal 11 in pid 15781 (3.2.0rc1-22.1-1795-SUSE-SL11.0) Please read the Trouble-Shooting section of the Samba3-HOWTO [2008/07/14 19:02:59, 0] lib/fault.c:fault_report(43) From: http://www.samba.org/samba/docs/Samba3-HOWTO.pdf [2008/07/14 19:02:59, 0] lib/fault.c:fault_report(44) =============================================================== [2008/07/14 19:02:59, 0] lib/util.c:smb_panic(1666) PANIC (pid 15781): internal error [2008/07/14 21:47:13, 0] lib/util_sock.c:write_data(1059) [2008/07/14 21:47:13, 0] lib/util_sock.c:get_peer_addr_internal(1596) getpeername failed. I run awstats.pl twice an hour in crontab, and smokeping.pl at startup. Stopping these applications significantly reduced the number of segfaults. I notice that perl was upgraded to 5.10.0. My system now has both 5.8.8 and 5.10.0. ..don -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.
