It was the latest kernel, I think 2.6.25. Paradoxical because the normal installation boots but not the failsafe (screen just goes black and freezes). Did anybody have the same problem? Is there a way to fix the failsafe boot? But seriously, it might happen that there is a problem with the normal boot (for other reasons) and then it would be good to have the failsafe. I know it's hard to make a diagnosis when the screen simply goes blank during boot but maybe there is a way to reinstall the failsafe somehow.
