In a MergedFB setup with a Thinkpad R50 with german keyboard, for the
additional keyboard I have a US USB keyboard. With
Option "XkbLayout" "de,us"
Option "XkbOptions" "grp:caps_toggle"
I can switch to an US layout with the CAPS LOCK key. However the <BKSL> key

Currently I don't have access to a UK keyboard and this key is missing on a german keyboard (replaced by the upper half of this big Enter key). -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug, or are watching someone who is.
https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=275561 ------- Comment #4 from bon@elektron.ikp.physik.tu-darmstadt.de 2007-05-17 09:15 MST ------- Is there any reason why I should try the setxkbmap options? Suse 10.2 file /usr/share/X11/xkb/symbols/us differs from ../symbols/us files distributed by xorg from recent CVS and also earlier ./symbols/us files found in earlier xorg/xfree versions. This results in strange/unexpected behaviour and should be fixed. But to fullfill your request, I changed /usr/share/X11/xkb/symbols/us to the distributed file (without <BKSL> in the basic definition). Command 1 results in the original behaviour, with <BKSL> printing '#' and <SHIFT><BKSL> printing '''. Command 2 and 3 make <TLDE> a dead key but let <BKSL> work. There is no difference from using the appropriate lines on xorg.conf -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug, or are watching someone who is.
Is there any reason why I should try the setxkbmap options? Yes, sometimes the keyboard configuration in xorg.conf gets overwritten by
