[Bug 1228896] New: GNOME:Factory/tracker-miners: Stuck in loop on deleted file
https://bugzilla.suse.com/show_bug.cgi?id=1228896 Bug ID: 1228896 Summary: GNOME:Factory/tracker-miners: Stuck in loop on deleted file Classification: openSUSE Product: openSUSE.org Version: unspecified Hardware: Other OS: Other Status: NEW Severity: Normal Priority: P5 - None Component: 3rd party software Assignee: os.gnome.maintainers@gmail.com Reporter: sebix+novell.com@sebix.at QA Contact: screening-team-bugs@suse.de Target Milestone: --- Found By: --- Blocker: --- This error message appears in the journal 12582 times per minute: Aug 06 09:01:01 medan /usr/libexec/gdm/gdm-x-session[94487]: (tracker-extract-3:94487): Tracker-WARNING **: 09:01:01.785: Task for 'file:///home/user/file.temp.webm' finished with error: Error when getting information for file “/home/user/file.temp.webm”: No such file or directory This also resulted in a very high CPU load. The file was just a temporary file during a download. It appears the tracker does not mind that the file was removed since. As a workaround, I created the file with the same name and type to make the tracker happy and make my PC consume less power. There was a similar bug upstream 3 years ago, so I don't think it's related: https://gitlab.gnome.org/GNOME/localsearch/-/issues/136 -- You are receiving this mail because: You are on the CC list for the bug.

Unfortunately, upstream now renamed their project, which makes the upgrade more complicated. They also added a new dependency, which someone already packaged in their home: https://build.opensuse.org/package/show/home:mantarimay:GNOME/tinysparql I started the update and rename here: https://build.opensuse.org/package/show/home:sebix:branches:GNOME:Factory/tr... but it doesn't work yet, some dbus stuff still fails when starting the daemon. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are on the CC list for the bug.
