[Bug 525639] New: [Goblin Bug] gnome-keyring-manager is hidden by myzone and not auto-unlocked
http://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=525639 Summary: [Goblin Bug] gnome-keyring-manager is hidden by myzone and not auto-unlocked Classification: openSUSE Product: openSUSE 11.1 Version: Final Platform: Other OS/Version: Other Status: NEW Severity: Normal Priority: P5 - None Component: Other AssignedTo: bnc-team-screening@forge.provo.novell.com ReportedBy: awafaa@opensuse.org QAContact: qa@suse.de Found By: --- User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; U; Linux i686; en-GB; rv:1.9.0.11) Gecko/2009060200 SUSE/3.0.11-0.1.1 Firefox/3.0.11 When logging in after enabling the flickr plugin or an empathy account, it appears that neither of those services are working correctly. They are infact doing as expected. Problem is the g-k-m pop up box is hidden by the "myzone" window. There is also no option to enable the keyring to be unlocked on login. This affects mojito and empathy. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1.Enable the flickr plugin and create your keyring 2.Log out 3.Log in Actual Results: g-k-m pop up window to unlock the keyring is obscured by myzone Expected Results: either the keyring is auto-unlocked on login or focus is given to the pop up window and not myzone. -- Configure bugmail: http://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.

Auto-unlock is supposed to be implemented based on the 'method' that JP and Vincent had discussed.
The limited level of security that can be provided is caused by the fact that auto-login is enabled, preventing us from using the password for any meaningful interaction with the keyring.
Vincent, was the solution you suggested ever implemented in the Moblin images? Is there an easy way to check?
No idea if it was implemented, but I guess it wasn't -- it probably involves adding a specific file to /etc/skel, or patching gnome-keyring. That being said, I'm a bit worried that we want to ship this as default. I can't stress enough that the passwords will appear in clear text in some file this way... I don't have a better proposal right now, though. -- Configure bugmail: http://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.
