If I add http://dist.suse.de/install/SLP/openSUSE-11.0-LATEST-DVD/x86_64/DVD1/ as repo for zypper and then execute "zypper in kernel-default", the new kernel gets installed, but all section entries are removed.
Therefore I tend to blame zypper.
The kernel-default package has been upgraded (old removed, new installed) - what the kernel package does with the grub menu has nothing to do with zypper.
BTW, another thing caught my eye - every time I install a new kernel using zypper, it tells me it has to downgrade several packages:
This bug is two-fold: zypper telling you that it will "downgrade" even if the old version is the same as the new version (which is probably the case here) where it should tell "reinstall" (fixed in zypper 0.10.5) and the dependency solver telling zypper to reinstall the packages (bug 369980). -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.
