[Bug 1103702] New: Check Installation Media doesn't recognize bootable USB stick as a valid source
http://bugzilla.opensuse.org/show_bug.cgi?id=1103702 Bug ID: 1103702 Summary: Check Installation Media doesn't recognize bootable USB stick as a valid source Classification: openSUSE Product: openSUSE Tumbleweed Version: Current Hardware: Other OS: Other Status: NEW Severity: Normal Priority: P5 - None Component: Installation Assignee: yast2-maintainers@suse.de Reporter: sonichedgehog_hyperblast00@yahoo.com QA Contact: jsrain@suse.com Found By: --- Blocker: --- I used the instructions at https://en.opensuse.org/SDB:Live_USB_stick to burn the official openSUSE Leap 15.0 x64 image onto a bootable USB stick. The iso file was burnt using a command of the following format: dd if=/path/to/file of=/dev/sdx bs=4M status=progress I noticed an issue with the Check Installation Media option: When booting from an USB stick rather than a DVD, choosing that will give you a "no valid media found" error and ask you to reboot. It seems the checker won't detect the stick as valid target for integrity checking as it would a CD / DVD. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are on the CC list for the bug.
