[Bug 382874] New: asciidoc requires fop
https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=382874 Summary: asciidoc requires fop Product: openSUSE 11.0 Version: Factory Platform: Other OS/Version: Other Status: NEW Severity: Normal Priority: P5 - None Component: Development AssignedTo: tiwai@novell.com ReportedBy: bwalle@novell.com QAContact: qa@suse.de Found By: Development Currently, the asciidoc package has "fop" as requirement. I think that should be changed to "Recommends" since the normal asciidoc command works without fop (HTML output). I noticed that in Factory where currently fop is not available (don't know why) and I wanted to install asciidoc. :) -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.

If we change fop to be optional, the script should check the availability and warn properly in advance. -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.

But you're able to remove them via "rpm -e". -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.

If you make fop as a weak dependency, you have to change the asciidoc code work without an error, or at least, with a more understandable error message. -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.

If "fop" is installable in next beta, I'm fine with closing that bug as WONTFIX. -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.

At least, it's on FACTORY repo. So, a pattern problem? -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.

I didn't use YaST, I manually used RPM and didn't notice that fop is "noarch". :-( -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.
